Do your friends refer to you as the “creative” one in the bunch? Are you enthusiastic about craft and sewing, passionate about re/upcycling, have a natural curiosity for learning and about 12 hours a week to share? The Bee is looking for YOU to intern with us this summer!
The role of the summer intern will include helping The Bee team with many aspects of running the studio, including inventory management, communications through social media platforms, web site, and email, retail merchandising, coordinating classes and other learning opportunities, scheduling alterations appointments, researching and making samples of relevant projects as directed.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated efficiency with social media platforms and will put that talent to use by developing a communications calendar and producing inspiring content for same. Being an effective writer and having photography skills are important. You must also have a desire to work in a positive, empowering environment with a strong focus on creative reuse and community collaboration. A certain amount of initiative and self-directedness (within the scope of assigned tasks) is expected.
This unpaid position is great for a marketing, entrepreneurship, business, design, events management student to enrich your resume. The internship can be somewhat flexible in order to meet your learning objectives and we are happy to work with your instructors to meet any credit requirements.
The primary location is The Bee studio at 24 N. Beaver Street, Suite A (second floor), although some work may be done remotely. The internship will begin in June and end in August.
BONUS: The Summer Intern may sit in on (at no charge) all classes offered at The Bee during the months of the internship.
